Phoenix Suns on Fire: Vogel Keeping Options Open for Playoffs Rotation

The Suns are in their best moment of the season. After numerous ups and downs, Phoenix seems to have found its way to the point of being victorious in eight of its last eleven games. Such a streak has taken them to sixth place in the Western Conference and opens the door to thinking that they can truly be in the fight for the ring. Well, that does not mean that Frank Vogel believes that the current rotation will be the one chosen in the postseason.

The coach of the Arizona organization is satisfied with what they are doing and hopes that the chosen path is the ideal one, but he also clarifies that in his head there are other formulas that he could end up putting into practice in the playoffs. Yes, Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal and Devin Booker have their spot secured, but others like Grayson Allen could change roles. This is how he explains it head coach.

“Grayson has been our starter and I hope he stays that way, but if you make the playoffs or even now that you’re getting close to it, all options are on the table,” he tells Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic in relation to the possible inclusion of Royce O’Neale as a starter.

It’s not a surprise. Without going into assessing who should be chosen between Allen and O’Neale, the reality is that the playoffs are exactly about that, making adjustments so that your team ends up imposing itself on the one in front of it. Many teams with long runs in the postseason have relied on this, on a change that turns around a tie that seems decided. It is normal for Vogel to keep all options on the table.
