Perugia won the men’s volleyball championship, the second in its history

On Sunday evening, Sir Safety Umbria Volley Perugia beat Mint Vero Volley Monza by 3 sets to 1 in game 4 of the Super League finals, the men’s volleyball championship, and won the second Scudetto in its history.

The finals are won by the best of five games, i.e. whoever gets to three first wins. Sunday’s was precisely the third victory in the series for Perugia: in game 1 they won 3-1 at home, in game 2 they were beaten 3-2 in Monza and in game 3 they took ahead in the series, winning again 3 to 1.

It is the second time that Perugia has won the Scudetto: it had already done so in the 2017-2018 season, when it beat Associazione Sportiva Volley Lube, a team from Treia, in the province of Macerata, in the final.
