Pelicans Lose Sixth Place to Lakers in NBA Regular Season Finale

It’s official ! The last day of the NBA regular season is over, and with it the rankings are sealed! The Pelicans are the big losers of this evening, since they lose their sixth place against the Lakers and will play the Play-in tournament… against the Lakers, at home on Tuesday. The winner will go to the Playoffs, the loser will have a second chance against the winner of Kings – Warriors.

A little dress rehearsal before time, just to take the temperature of the room. Tuesday evening, the same players will compete in the same place, for a place in the Playoffs. The Lakers won easily today, but the Pelicans’ response will be completely different on Tuesday, since the stakes will be as high as the winner’s efforts: qualification for the Playoffs, precious days of rest. The loser will have all the pressure in the world on their shoulders when it comes time to play for survival against the Kings or the Warriors

Black spot on the performance between the two teams this evening? The exit of Anthony Davis visibly injured in the back. Alert, it goes straight to the bench. With the match having already been played for a while in terms of scores, why did we leave AD and LeBron James on the field for so long? We don’t understand Darvin Ham’s logic, at this point.

The Lakers fought and won a lot of games to climb the rankings as best as possible after a really bad start to the season. They finished 8th at the buzzer, and offered themselves – in the absence of a direct place for the Playoffs – two chances to go there via the Play-in. And it’s not too bad! The Pelicans had a fairly average end to the season, and gradually gave way to the Clippers, the Mavericks and finally the Suns. You will have to put yourself under stress to get to the Playoffs. All this to potentially hit the Nuggets. See you Tuesday at 1:30 a.m. for this match at the top!
