Paris 2024 Olympic Games: Manon Herbulot and the mixed rifle shooting team qualified for the Games

The tricolors shone in Rio. At only 17 years old, Ardennese Manon Herbulot qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. She obtained her ticket, this Tuesday, April 16, to the Olympic Qualification Tournament in Rio (Brazil) by finishing 2nd in 10-man rifle m, signing an impressive performance.

The Ardennese obtained 228.1 points, which allowed her to reach the final where she was only beaten by her compatriot Océane Muller. Manon Herbulot competed in her first competition among the “big” in January during the World Cup in Cairo (Egypt) where she finished 77th. She therefore put in a great performance this Tuesday, April 16 during the TQO (Olympic Qualifying Tournament) in Rio.

“What she has just achieved is enormous,” notes, astounded, her father and president of the Sedan Mixed Shooting Society, Samuel Herbulot, to the regional newspaper l’Ardenais. Manon was mainly aiming for the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028 and, just a few months ago, we would never have imagined that going to Paris would be possible. She handled this final like a grown-up, managing to contain her stress even though everything was decided by a tenth of a millimeter. I have no words, to qualify like that at only 17 years old is really fantastic. »

Lucas Kryzs consoles himself in mixed team

Her eldest Océane Muller (21 years old) was already qualified for the Games. She had already had her quota in her pocket for six weeks. By taking first place, she proved that she was one of the best in the world in the discipline.

She also won the day before. She won silver in the 10m rifle mixed team with Lucas Kryzs. The 50m 3 position specialist also reached the final in the individual events this Tuesday. He finished earlier in the afternoon, eighth and last in the men’s final, therefore not offering himself a ticket to Paris 2024.
