Paris 2024 Olympic Games: Antoine Dupont in training with the Blues rugby sevens this week

A well-known face back in Capbreton. Already present in the Landes commune to prepare for the last World Cup with the French XV, Antoine Dupont has been back there since the start of the week for a five-day training course with the French 7s team. Nearly three month of the Olympic Games, the usual Stade Toulouse scrum half, brilliant against Exeter on Saturday in the Champions Cup quarters, will continue his acclimatization to the 7th.

This course aims in particular to consolidate the foundations for the Singapore tournament, from May 3 to 5… even if Dupont will not participate. He will in fact be selected the same weekend for the Champions Cup semi-finals against Harlequins. Without him, the septists will try to achieve a new performance, a month after the defeat in the final against New Zealand (7-10) in Hong Kong.

Next tournament at the beginning of June in Madrid

This course, however, allows “Toto” Dupont to refine his automatisms with his teammates, before participating in the last tournament of the season in Madrid, from May 31 to June 2. He will then return to Stade Toulouse, to play in the Top 14 final phases in which the Reds and Blacks will most certainly participate. Before looking ahead to the Olympics, which will begin on July 24 for the Septists.
