Oono and Ota achieve consecutive tournament wins

The All Japan Invitational Judo Weight Class Championship was held from April 6th (Saturday) to April 7th (Sunday) at the Fukuoka International Center in Fukuoka Prefecture, with five athletes taking part.

Rino, who competed in the 81kg class on the first day of the tournament, won the first round by 3 and won the semi-final match with Kotogari, advancing to the final round with flawless judo. The final match was against Takeichi (Japan Elevator). The match was dominated by Otono from start to finish, focusing on his strengths in kumite and footwork, and he won the match by landing a stunning short sotogake at 3 minutes and 39 seconds into the extra period. We achieved consecutive championship wins following last year.

Ota, who competed in the over 100kg class on the second day of the tournament, won the first round against Harasawa (Chofu Kosan) in a long battle that lasted 10 minutes and advanced to the semi-finals. In the semi-finals, Asahi Kasei won the match against Ojiya and won three coaching positions, advancing to the finals. The final match against Kageura (Japan Racing Association) was a close battle with two coaches at a time, but in the end he was able to counter his opponent’s techniques and hold them down to win by one. We have successfully achieved consecutive tournament wins.
