Oliver Sonne shines for Silkeborg IF: Scoring goals and making assists for his team

What present! After making his debut in the Peruvian National Team in March, Oliver Sonne has returned to his club, Silkeborg IF, quite inspired. For example, he gave an assist in his first match after the international break due to FIFA and in the second, against Brondby this Monday, April 8, he scored a great goal for his team to rescue a point from the end (they finished 1 -1). The ‘Blanquirroja’ player scored as a chalaca and surprised everyone in attendance at the Brondby Stadion.

At 80 minutes of play, after a cross into the area, the ball was knocked and two Silkeborg IF players wanted to shoot, but ended up getting in the way. Then, the ball took one more bounce and it was precisely for Sonne, who did not think twice and performed the stunt. The ball hit a rival footballer, deflected and ended up entering the goal defended by Patrick Pentz.

The situation was complicated because Brondby had taken the lead – Ohi Omoijuanfo scored at the beginning of the second half – and seemed to be left with the three points. Then the team led by Kent Nielsen went all out in search of a tie. Silkeborg IF advanced the lines and Oliver began to reach the area quite a bit. This is how he scored his goal, which served to rescue a point on this visit.

It is worth mentioning that the 23-year-old Peruvian scored his second goal so far this season. His previous goal came in November 2023 against Hvidovre IF, in the round of 16 of the DBU Pokalen, also known as the Danish Cup. In addition, he has two assists in the current Danish Super League and four in total in the campaign. Let us remember that, last season, Sonne scored four goals and gave two assists in the Super League.

In the Danish Superliga, Silkeborg IF has 29 points and is in sixth position in the first group of the championship. It is very far from the leader Brondby, which has 51 units. It is necessary to point out that the league has 12 teams, which play 32 dates to define their classification to the title round (top six) or the relegation round (bottom six).

It is worth mentioning that the first leg ended 6-1 in favor of Oliver Sonne’s team.
