Nexperia Joins Veolia Towers Hamburg as Main Sponsor for 2024/25 Season

On Monday, Veolia Towers Hamburg submitted the license documents for the 2024/25 season in the Easycredit Basketball Bundesliga on time. With fresh numbers!

So far, the club has been in the middle of the league with a budget of 5.5 million euros. Hamburg’s player spending (around 2.2 million euros) is even slightly lower (10th/11th place). Now the towers are getting a boost.

The semiconductor company Nexperia (global market share 20 percent) with its German headquarters in Hamburg is joining as the main sponsor for the company’s 100th anniversary. The former Philips subsidiary is now majority owned by a Chinese company.

Already on Wednesday in the catch-up game against Alba Berlin (8 p.m., Dyn) the Towers will be wearing the company logo on their jersey chest. It also appears in the center circle of the Inselpark Arena. For this, Nexperia is estimated to pay an amount of at least 600,000 euros per season.

However, the money not only flows into the professional department, but also into the club’s youth and social work. “We think holistically,” says sports director Marvin Willoughby (46).

Nexperia managing director Achim Kempe (a handball player himself) wants to make his company better known in the fight for skilled workers. “And as a long-established company, we also want to give a little something back. We want to achieve something big together with the Towers.”

After the surprising exit of the energy drink “28 Black” last summer, the towers’ chest was bare. The Wilhelmsburgers now have the free throw circle and the edges of the field as free advertising space.

The three-year contract with name sponsor Veolia (pays around 1 million euros per season) expires in 2025 – but an extension of the partnership is considered very likely.
