Los New York Mets won their ninth victory of the Major League Baseball season by beating the Pittsburgh Pirates three runs to one.
With this victory, those led by Venezuelan Carlos Mendoza leave a record of 9-8 and for the first time in the Major League campaign they have a positive record.
The Mets are third in the National League East, 2.5 games behind the leaders Atlanta Braves (11-5) and just half a game behind the Philadelphia Phillies (10-8).
The New York team, who have won nine of their last 12 games after starting the season with an 0-5 record, tied the score in the seventh inning against the Pirates, thanks to an RBI double by pinch-hitter Joey Wendle.
The Mets have thus moved above the .500 mark, something they had not achieved since the beginning of June of last year.
New York came back to defeat the Pirates for the second night in a row. He has won four series in a row, after losing his first two.
In the top of the seventh inning, Wendle replaced Brett Baty at third base (suffering from a stiffness problem in his left thigh). Moments later, he hit a double against Dominican Luis Ortiz (1-1).
This pushed Puerto Rican Francisco Lindor, who managed a walk by Ortiz with one out and advanced to third on a powerful single by Pete Alonso to center field.
Yankees suffered third straight loss
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. reached base four times and drove in two runs, Yusei Kikuchi achieved his first win of the season and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the New York Yankees 5-4 on Tuesday, who suffered their third consecutive loss.
Bo Bichette had an RBI single and Justin Turner added a sacrifice fly for Torontowho became the first opponent to win a series against the Yankees this year.
New York had won its first five series, something it had never achieved in history. His record had equaled his best starts to the campaign (1926 and 2010).
The Dominican Guerrero went 2 for 3 with two walks and a pair of singles.
