Development opportunity for young players

Even for baseball players who are not or no longer in the Academy program for a variety of reasons, the team is an excellent opportunity to continue their baseball career and recommend themselves for further tasks.

In the new season, the Legionnaires’ second team will be led by a duo who can also intervene in the game at a high level if necessary. Legionnaire veteran James Larsen, who has already won several titles with the Regensburg team, and Derick Baylis. The experienced South African has quickly become a permanent member of the #LegionaereFamily, playing in the Bundesliga last season as well as for the Guggenberg Legionnaires’ slowpitch team. Now he and Larsen lead the young team in the 2nd league. There the Regensburg team want to have an important say in the playoffs.

A tailor-made start

At least the start turned out as desired. The Legionnaires 2 won two clear victories against the Freising Grizzlies in the Armin Wolf Arena at home. After an 11-0 win in Game 1, the Regensburg team ended the second part of the double header with a 15-point lead via the Mercy Rule after the fourth inning.
