NBA Regular Season Sets Attendance Records Before Playoffs Begin

The regular season in the NBA came to an end last weekend. Before the playoffs begin, some statistics about the games so far have been revealed. What is particularly pleasing is that the NBA was able to set several attendance records.

A total of 22,536,341 spectators attended the NBA games, breaking the previous record of 22,234,502 visitors from last season. Over the course of the season, 872 games were sold out, which also set a new record (previous record 791 games). An average of 18,322 spectators came to the games. Statistically speaking, the NBA teams’ venues were at 98% capacity, which is also a new high.

The NBA also announced that twelve teams reported all of their respective home games as sold out. These teams are the Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks, Denver Nuggets, Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings and the Utah Jazz.
