The winner of the duel will face champions Denver Nuggets and superstar Nikola Jokic in the first round starting next weekend.
The loser of the first play-in in the West gets a second chance. This could lead to a duel between James and Curry if his Golden State Warriors win against the Sacramento Kings (4 a.m./DAZN).

The loser of the duel Kings (ninth) against Warriors (tenth) is out straight away. For the Warriors, who have dominated the NBA in recent years, missing the playoffs would be a bitter disappointment.
