NBA Plans to Repeat Epic Three-Point Duel at 2025 All-Star Game with Curry, Ionescu, Thompson, and Clark

The three-point duel between Stephen Curry and Sabrina Ionescu was undoubtedly one of the best moments of the 2024 All-Star, and the NBA, aware of this, seems willing to repeat it. According to Shams Charania, a journalist from The Athleticthe league intends to include this event again in All-Star Weekend, although with two extra guests: Klay Thomspon and Caitlin Clark.

Clark has created enormous expectation for her imminent jump to the WNBA thanks largely to her outside shot, in which she boasts an efficiency and range available to very few in the world. Thompson, for his part, has been Curry’s partner for years in the Warriors, who will be in charge of hosting the 2025 All-Star, and has formed a lethal duo with the point guard from the triple. However, his name seems less established than Clark’s, and it is possible that Damian Lillard, current champion of the three-point contest, will be part of the contest in his place.

Shams also comments that everything indicates that the event will consist of a two-on-two competition, although he does not specify which pairs are being shuffled. On the one hand, having the two Warriors players compete against the two WNBA players sounds like the most likely option, although it does not seem out of the question that they opt for mixed pairs that face each other.
