Napoli Speeds Up Pursuit of Jonathan David as Potential Osimhen Replacement

Jonathan David, Napoli meets the agents and speeds up. He is the favorite to replace Victor Osimhen. The Canadian bomber (whose contract expires in 2025) scores goals in bunches with Lille (81 in 176 games), but in the comparison with Osimhen there are two other factors to consider.

The first is physical appearance. Unlike the Nigerian, who stops often, who has missed dozens and dozens of games with Napoli, David has stopped in just three games since he joined Lille. Furthermore, he is a penalty taker: he scored 21 penalties and missed only 5. His average is decidedly higher than Osimhen. These two considerations would be enough to consider him already superior to Osimhen, but obviously the field will have to express itself.
