“Sport Bild” now says that this amounts to 125,000 euros. That would be the fourth highest such total in Bundesliga history. Only Rafinha (700,000 euros, 2008), Diego (400,000 euros, 2011) and Sadio Mane (350,000 euros, 2023) had to pay more.

The action led to criticism from Austrian captain Marco Friedl. Keita is under contract until 2026. Werder is likely to be aiming for a departure in the summer.
