Mouloudia of Algiers Qualifies for Semi-Final with Victory over WA Tlemcen

Mouloudia of Algiers had to deploy against a valiant team from WA Tlemcen at the 5 July stadium to qualify for the semi-final after a 2-0 victory.

WAT opened the scoring but the goal was refused for an offside position by young referee Ghada Mahat. Following a free kick repelled by the goalkeeper, a Tlemcen player hits and scores but another player who is not playing the game bends down to let the ball pass while he was masking the goalkeeper (16th).

Another goal was denied at Mouloudia ten minutes later. Still on an off-center free kick, Belaili looks for Naidji behind on the other side for a volley, the latter poorly executed will end in the package and Abdellaoui scores with a header but he is offside (26th).

Belaili takes a yellow card for moving a ball from a free kick but it is mainly for an accumulation of protests following several actions in the area where he demanded a penalty. It was not a gift match for Ghada Mahat who had to manage constant protests.

The penalty will finally come after recourse to VARa Tlemcenian defender slightly unbalances the MCA number 10 who has slalomed into the area. It is Belaili himself who transforms by shooting in the middle (45th).

Mouloudia d’Algar will score a second goal in stoppage time but it will be refused by referee Ghorbal in charge of the video. Indeed on a free kick from Naidji pushed back by the post, Hamidi scores but he is slightly ahead of the last WAT player (45’+4′).

In the second period, Merzougui and then Naidji created great opportunities like in the 64th and 68th where the former Paradou player saw his attempts rejected by the goalkeeper. Then the Tlemcenciens will go out a little and Aichi gets a chance with a header (71st).

The second goal of the MCA will finally arrive in the 79th minute by the incoming Ouattara at the conclusion of a great collective action initiated by Belaili who finds Bayazid, the latter puts it back to Zougrana who finds his compatriot to score.

The Mouloudia bench will make the difference despite the determination of the WAT player. The MCA thus joins the CRB and the CSC in the last square, while waiting for US Biskra – USM Alger.
