Mexican Archery Teams Head to Shanghai for the 2024 World Cup Series

QUERÉTARO, Qro., April 19, 2024.- After their outstanding participation in the Medellín 2024 Pan American Archery Championship, where they won eight medals, the national teams of the specialty left this Thursday for Shanghai, China, where the April 23 to 28 the first stage of the season’s World Cup series.

Six specialists in recurve and six in compound, accompanied by their coaches and multidisciplinary team, are the ones who will shoot their best arrows in the competition that awards points for the world ranking towards the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The brand new representative is made up of Alejandra Valencia, Ángela Ruiz, Ana Paula Vázquez, Matías Grande, Javier Rojas and Bruno Martínez in the Olympic event; as well as Dafne Quintero, Maya Becerra, Esmeralda Sánchez, Sebastián García, Juan Del Río and Máximo Méndez in the compound modality.

Being an Olympic year, the 2024 World Cup Series will only have three stages: Shanghai, Yecheon from May 21 to 26 and Antalya from June 18 to 23, the stop where the last Olympic places will be awarded.
