Loïs Openda: Rising Star in the Bundesliga Sparks Interest from Top English Clubs

Third top scorer in the Bundesliga with 21 goals scored in 28 matches, behind Serhou Guirassy (24 goals) and Harry Kane (32 goals), Loïs Openda had a perfect first season in Germany.

Obviously, the performances of the Red Devil do not go unnoticed. In recent weeks, the name of the Liégeois has also been mentioned at Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle.

According to Bild, Leipzig has no intention of selling Openda this summer. The German club, however, would have set the price of the former Lens striker at 100 million euros. They hope that this sum will cool the enthusiasm of interested clubs.

The German media also adds that from the summer of 2025, the Belgian striker’s release clause will be 80 million euros. The big English clubs could therefore wait a year before taking action for Openda.

In the history of the club?

What is certain is that the Belgian will bring a hefty sum to the current 5th in the Bundesliga. If he is sold for more than €90 million, he will become the biggest outgoing transfer in the club’s history. This record currently belongs to Josko Gvardiol. The latter was sold for 90 million euros to Manchester City last summer.
