At the weekend, for the first time, there will be an opportunity to watch the “Optibet” or the top league Latvian championship 2023/2024 for women. Liepāja Olympic Center will host the third of five games for 1st place and the championship title, informs Ieva Maisiņa, public relations specialist of Liepāja Sports Games School.
Inguna Valdmane, the sports organizer and coach of the volleyball department of the Liepāja Sports Games School, says: “Our graduate Megija Dambrecht participated in one of the Optibet teams last year, so in the spring of 2023, the wishes coincided with this year’s opportunities.
The game will be important for the students of the Liepāja Sports Games School, because we are preparing for the finals of the Latvian Youth Championship, this will be a very good opportunity to get inspired. The students of our school will also practice their skills in refereeing the game, record the game and the boys will be line judges for the first time.
In Liepāja, a women’s game of this level is taking place for the first time, I am proud that the people of Liepāja will have the opportunity to watch women’s volleyball at such a professional level. I invite everyone interested to come and watch the game!”
