Liège Basket Shows Resilience to Claim Third Place at ENBL Final Four

Just twenty-four hours after the disappointment of a semi-final lost to the wire, it took a lot of mental strength for the Liégeois to find the desire to bounce back during the match for third place at the ENBL Final Four in Aarhus at Denmark. Facing the Lithuanian team of Siauliai, against whom they had lost heavily in the group stage earlier in the competition, Alex Zampier’s men managed to show a nice dose of pride to finally climb onto the third step on a European podium.

To achieve this, the main team was able to count on the XXL performance of its American strong winger Ejimofor Anosike, author of 34 points and 18 rebounds, record marks in an ENBL Final Four. In his wake, the entire collective responded with 51 rebounds and 22 assists recorded in total. Impressive figures which allowed Liège Basket to establish its domination despite a slightly sluggish first 15 minutes (25-37).

Enough to also return to Belgium on a more positive note which could boost the group for the rest of the championship in the BNXT League. One of the main points of satisfaction is to be found in the association of the Hagins-Anosike pair which will have done damage in the interior game. A valuable lesson for the rest of the season.
