World champion Dennis Schröder suffered another defeat with his Brooklyn Nets in the North American professional league NBA after three recent successes. There was a clear 104:116 defeat against Schröder’s former club Los Angeles Lakers, with the DBB captain scoring 14 points as well as three rebounds and three assists.
The outstanding player was superstar LeBron James, who helped the Lakers win with a season-high of 40 points. The 39-year-old equaled his career record with nine three-pointers in ten attempts. When asked how much longer he wanted to play, James said: “Not very much longer, at least not another 21 years, that’s for damn sure.” He added: “I don’t know when the door will close, but I don’t have much time left.”
Maxi Kleber achieved his seventh win in a row with the Dallas Mavericks, beating the Houston Rockets 125:107. The German contributed two points and four rebounds. His teammate, superstar Luka Doncic, had 47 points, twelve rebounds and seven assists. The Slovenian also set his career record with nine three-pointers. “He has shown that he is one of the best players in the world,” said Mavs coach Jason Kidd and enthused: “He is always able to take strong throws. He is Picasso! Give him the brush, he becomes something Make something special.” For Houston it was the first defeat after eleven successes.
