Latvian Referee Zunde Continues Elite Officiating Streak at World Championships

Zunde has already worked in the last three elite group world championships. He has also served the 2021 World U-18 Championship in the USA.

This season, he has officiated Optibet Hockey League (OHL) games, officiating 26 regular season games and 12 playoff tournament games in the OHL, including all five Finals games.

At the last world championship in Tampere and Riga, the two referees judged the quarter-final matches as well. It was the first time that two Latvian referees refereed matches of such rank in the same championship.

The World Championship will take place in the Czech cities of Prague and Ostrava from May 10 to 26.

The matches of the Latvian national team in subgroup B will take place in Ostrava, where the USA, Germany, Sweden, Slovakia, France, Kazakhstan and Poland will also compete.
