The Lakers’ frustration ran deep after they lost their 20-point lead and Jamal Murray’s buzzer-beater. LeBron James left his PK early and Anthony Davis also had to let off steam: “We had phases in which we didn’t know what we were doing at both ends of the field. And that’s exactly what cost us the game,” complained Davis and quite a few saw this as a swipe at the not undisputed coach Darvin Ham.
The coach was asked about these comments after a training session, but didn’t want to give it too much importance. “Sometimes plays don’t turn out the way you want,” explained Ham. “Frustration builds up quickly. I think that we are organized and we have a lot of talented coaches here who do a good job,” assured Ham, who dismissed Davis’ statements as a result of the emotions after the game.
