Excellent result for the women’s section of the LA PALESTRA sports association of Martina Franca. Bronze medal for the athlete Sofia MANCA at the A1 finals of the Italian JUNIORES JUDO Championships, held in Naples, to which the athlete Martinese had access thanks to the excellent positioning in the national ranking list in the category – 70 kg for the exceptional last year’s performances (Italian A/2 Champion and Bronze Medal in the last edition of the Italian Junior A/1 Championships).
Followed on the tatami by coach Francesco Bufano, Sofia won four matches out of five faced, losing only to the 2022 Cadet world vice champion, Serena Ondei, a titled athlete of the Carabinieri Roma Sports Group, in a category populated by athletes of the highest level .
Sofia Manca’s excellent result adds to that of Giuseppe Braccioforte, Vice-Champion of Italy Cadetti A/1 Kg -73 of last March 10th in Rome. Giuseppe’s, already Italian Judo Champion in 2023, was a great achievement, also by virtue of the commitment made to reconcile life as an athlete and that of a student.
Therefore, the work of the ASD LA PALESTRA of Martina Franca continues, which now finds itself facing the preparation of Sofia in view of the A1 final of the Italian Absolute Championship, and towards the important international competitions of the European Cup Juniores in Lignano in April and Rijeka (Croatia) in May.
