Quarterback Kirk Cousins has worn number 8 for the vast majority of his NFL career, but that won’t be the case with the Atlanta Falcons.
Indeed, the one who signed a four-year, $180 million contract with the Georgia team will wear number 18 with his new team.

The 8 already belonged to tight end Kyle Pitts, but it’s not because he wanted to keep the number that Cousins made another choice.
«Il [Pitts] wanted to change my number, so it was perfect,” said the kingpin during his appearance on Shaquille O’Neal’s podcast, “The Big Podcast.”
Rather, it was the NFL that put obstacles in the way of the two teammates.
“There are a lot of jerseys [à vendre] with the number 8 and the name “Pitts” on the back, Cousins said. We should have bought them all.”
“Both of us should have written a check,” he continued. It was several hundred thousand dollars. So I told myself I was going to be comfortable with number 18 and Kyle told me he was comfortable with number 8.”
