On the shelves of the Hornets and the Nets, Kevin Young made himself known as the right-hand man of Monty Williams, then of Frank Vogel at the Suns. To keep him, the Suns broke the bank last summer. With an annual salary of two million dollars, Young is the highest paid assistant in the NBA.
A salary more than doubled
Aged 42, Kevin Young will explode his salary since we are talking abouta seven-year, $30 million contract ! It’s also a homecoming for him since he’s a native of Salt Lake City. Mormon college specifies that Young will finish the season with the Suns, but that he will start working on his staff and recruiting for next season.

He was a leading candidate for vacancies in the NBA and was instrumental in nurturing young talent into the NBA. Kevin will bring a new vision to our program, with his extensive NBA experience. He fits in perfectly at BYU. He is humble, funny and very intelligent. Cougar Nation will love getting to know Kevin.”
