Karate Demonsration Event Showcases Incredible Feats of Strength and Skill

Sport. Young and old are invited to attend a spectacular demonstration of breaking wooden boards, baseball bats and cement blocks, by karatekas of all ages. This event, organized by the Kyokushin Montérégie Karate School, will take place on April 20, from 9 a.m., at the Paulinoix Center, in Saint-Paul-de-l’Île-aux-Noix.

Some 50 karatekas, children and adults, will participate in this demonstration, which is open to the general public.

“Each child breaks five boards, or more, depending on their level,” explains the owner of the Kyokushin Montérégie Karate School, Michel Deslauriers. Some adults will break up to ten boards at a time. »

One of the most impressive events is certainly breaking cement blocks.

“There are five different ways to break two blocks at once,” explains Mr. Deslauriers. On April 20, we have an 83-year-old karateka who is going to break three blocks. Another will break four blocks at once, in four different ways. »

All participants will receive a certificate attesting to their achievement.

We do this to make people want to sign up for our karate classes. We want to show that things are happening in Lacolle and Saint-Paul-de-l’Île-aux-Noix.
