Juventus regains some color thanks to its victory against Fiorentina

Juve beat Fiorentina this Sunday evening (1-0), after two months without a victory.

Juventus Turin, down for two months, recorded a second victory in five days by winning against Fiorentina (1-0) on Sunday during the 31st day of the Italian Championship.

Winners of Lazio Rome in the semi-final first leg of the Italian Cup (2-0) on Tuesday, Massimiliano Allegri’s players generally mastered Fiorentina. Federico Gatti made the difference in the 21st minute, tapping home a Bremer shot from point blank range that was pushed back by Pietro Terracciano’s crossbar.

After the opening score, Juve once again made the Florentine goalkeeper’s net shake three times in the first half, but these three goals were refused for offside. After the break, Fiorentina posed far more problems for Juve and could have equalized in the 74th minute had it not been for a spectacular save from Wojciech Szczesny.

Thanks to their second victory since the end of January, Juve, who had only pocketed seven points in the previous nine matches, reduced their gap on second place occupied by AC Milan to six points. Inter, traveling to Udine on Monday to close the 31st day, is in the lead with eleven points ahead of AC Milan and 17 over Juve.
