Juventus has to pay Ronaldo almost ten million euros

Cristiano Ronaldo has won a lawsuit against his former club Juventus Turin over a salary issue during the CoV pandemic. An arbitration court decided on Wednesday that Italy’s record champions had to pay the Portuguese almost ten million euros.

Ronaldo was under contract with Juventus from 2018 to 2021. The matter concerns salary payments that were postponed during the pandemic in the 2020/2021 season. The 39-year-old had agreed to the postponement at the time.

The pandemic meant high financial losses for numerous clubs around the world. Many players gave up their salary or parts. In Ronaldo’s case, payments were also postponed.

However, the Portuguese later went to court and even demanded almost 20 million euros. The arbitration tribunal now decided against Juve. The Turin team insisted that Ronaldo voluntarily resigned at the time, but apparently could not convince the court.
