Miguel López, José Javier Sainz and Enzo Jiménez, in the men’s category, and Gloria Martínez, in the women’s category, have achieved a place for the final of the XXX Gran Premio Junta Castilla y León thanks to their performance in the local qualifying tournament, held this Sunday at the Soria Golf Club.
This local phase granted a place in the final to three players from the host club in the men’s chapter and one player in the women’s chapter.
In men, the three best were Miguel López, winner with 38 points, and José Javier Sainz and Enzo Jiménez, tied with 36 in third place, since second position went to Juan Carlos Ramos, from Dehesa de Morón, with 37.
In women, the winner, and therefore classified, was Gloria Martínez, with 35 points, who preceded in the classification María Cristina Oteo (Navagrulla), second with 28 points, and two other players from the Soria Golf Club, Carmen Ayllón ( 28) and Piedad González (27).
The game mode was individual Stableford Handicap (18-hole round) and a total of 26 golfers participated (22 in the men’s section and 4 in the women’s section).
The XXX Gran Premio Junta de Castilla y León consists, in this 2024 edition, of 39 local tournaments – four of them in the Soria region – before the celebration of a last qualifying test and a grand final, which will take place on June 1 in Sotoverde (Valladolid) and for which the four representatives of the Soria Golf Club mentioned have already achieved their qualification.
