The Judo Club Base de A Estrada achieved great results in its participation in the Galician Championship for children and cadet categories that was held in Lugo. In total they won three bronze medals, all in the cadet category, where five judokas participated. In the U-15 category, two athletes from Estrada attended.
The medalists were Roco Castro, Francisco García and Mateo Miranda. The first judoka won bronze in the -57 kilo competition, while Francisco did so in the -73 kilo competition. For his part, Mateo Miranda also finished in third position in the +90 kilos category. The remaining athletes could not get into the fight for the medals, falling in the first round.
Fifth place
In the children’s category, the best result was achieved by Adam Pena, in -50 kilos. He finished fifth, very close to adding a medal for the A Estrada team. The club congratulated the winners and encouraged those who were not so lucky to try with renewed strength for the next opportunity.
