José Altuve: The Sole Latin American Player in MLB’s Top 10 Highest Paid

The Venezuelan second baseman and undisputed star of the Houston AstrosJosé Altuve is the only Latin player who appears in the famous list of the Top 10 highest-paid players for what will be the 2024 Major League Baseball season, according to information from Forbes magazine.

In the aforementioned list there are baseball players born in the United States, as well as Japan, who have become owners of this Top 10, and the Venezuelan José Altuve appears as the only one born in Latin America among the 10 highest paid in the Major Leagues, which is a quite important fact for the Latin market and especially for Altuve who has earned this status through a lot of work and effort, proving to continue being the spearhead of the Texan team’s offense.

How is the list composed?

The 33-year-old second baseman with 13 seasons of experience in the Big Top, all with the Houston Astros, he is in position number six with $43 million, behind the Japanese players Shohei Ohtani (#1 and $62 million), Yoshinobu Yamamoto (#2 and $59 million), the Americans Max Scherzer (#3 and $53 million), Aaron Judge (#4 and $45 million) and Justin Verlander (#5 and $44.1 million).

How was this list created?
