The Venezuelan has left very good feelings in his first games in the best baseball in the world and has shown that his talent is worthy of being the second best prospect in the MLB.
This Wednesday, Chourio stood out again. He went 1-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base, two RBIs and two runs scored to be a big part of the Milwaukee Brewers’ 7-2 victory over the Cincinnati Reds.
Now, after 10 games in the Big Ten, the Zulian has a batting average of .282, with 11 hits, a double, two home runs, nine RBIs, five runs scored, two stolen bases and a .788 OPS.
Likewise, according to Baseball Reference, Chourio’s WAR is now 0.5, the fourth highest among Venezuelans.
It is surpassed only by Andres Gimenez (0.9), Jose Altuve (0.7) and his teammate, William Contreras (0.6).
The 20-year-old outfielder started his career in the Major Leagues on the right foot and everything indicates that he will be fighting for the National League Rookie of the Year award.
