A good first in the outdoor Olympic season for the Italian national archery team, which immediately played a leading role in the Kahraman Bagatir Spring Arrows Tournament of Antalya (Turkey), collecting four overall podiums in recurve between individual and team competitions. Very important in particular was the victory of the men’s trio made up of Federico Musolesi, Mauro Nespoli and Matteo Borsani, who collected 40 precious points for the world ranking.
We remind you that, at the end of all the qualifying events with direct passes to the Olympics up for grabs, two countries will be selected again (both for men and women, among those who were unable to qualify the trio on the field) precisely on the basis of the World Ranking of 24 June 2024. Thanks to yesterday’s result, Italy gained two positions among the men, rising to 2nd place and therefore virtually moving into the repechage zone.
The next two quotas will be distributed in the Pan-American and European Pre-Olympics, while the Antalya Global Pre-Olympic will award three. Among the women, the Italian selection occupies sixth provisional place, but two slots are still up for grabs through the Continental Championships (1 for Europe and 1 for the Americas) and four at the World Pre-Olympic.
