(ANSA) – RIMINI, MARCH 12 – The 50th edition of the Italian Indoor Archery Championships ends with the arrows of the fourth and final day dedicated to the preliminaries and finals of the Olympic arch. At the Rimini Fair, which hosted the event for the tenth time, the absolute recurve titles were awarded which saw the Italians Mauro Nespoli (Aeronautica Militare) and Chiara Rebagliati (Fiamme Oro) triumph for the first time in their careers, while among the teams, the men’s gold was won by the Voghera Archers (Nespoli, Paoletta, Travisani) and the women’s by the Iuvenilia Archers (Andreoli, Degani, Rolando).
Nespoli also adds the Italian indoor title to his very long palmares, the first of his career. The archer from Voghera, three times medalist at the Olympics, wins the final in a comeback against the young Matteo Bilisari (Maremmana Arcieri), Junior archer in the youth national team, with the result of 6-4. Instead, it was eighteen-year-old Francesco Pernice (Arcieri Mediterranei) who climbed onto the third step of the podium, beating Olympian Michele Frangilli (Aeronautica Militare) 6-4 in the final.
In the women’s category, Chiara Rebagliati won the 2023 Italian title, thus climbing to the top step of the podium for the first time in this competition. The archer from Savona, recently elected best athlete of the two-year period 2021-2022, beats her national teammate Aiko Rolando in an all-Fiamme Oro final with the result of 6-0, at the end of an exhilarating Italian championship in which, after having concluded the qualified in first position, won all the matches from the round of 16 onwards without losing a single set. The defending champion Tatiana Andreoli (Fiamme Oro) won the bronze by beating Roberta Di Francesco (Arcieri Abruzzesi) in the shoot-off 6-5 in the last match.
