In the 3-3 draw in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Champions League between Manchester City and Real Madrid, Erling Haaland remained pale for once. Former HSV star Rafael van der Vaart told the Dutch broadcaster “Ziggo”: “Erling Haaland was very bad. If he doesn’t score, he’s pretty useless. I think he’s a very average player on the ball.” The French sports magazine “L’Équipe” even named the goalscorer the flop of the game.
