Iachini sacked, team entrusted to Giampaolo from Primavera

The defeat in Como, a complicated ranking with the ghost of the playouts and the sixth knockout in the last 8 days convinced the Bari to change the coach again. This is the twenty-second change in Serie B. Beppe Iachini’s dismissal it matured after an internal discussion, which was followed up the decision to entrust the team to Federico Giampaolo54 years old, brother of Marco Giampaolo, former coach of Milan, Sampdoria and Empoli, promoted by Primavera.

INSIGHTS

It’s about the fourth coach of the season after Michele Mignani (from two matches at Palermo thanks to the new rules) who on the tenth day had to make way for Pasquale Marino, then replaced by Iachini. The De Laurentiis family decided that after 10 games with 2 wins and as many draws, there were no conditions to continue with Iachini on the bench.

Federico Giampaolo, who has a record of 9 wins, 6 draws and 11 defeats with the Primavera, finds himself with a team that hasn’t won away from home since October 29th in Brescia (they would be last in the standings considering the results away from home) and that in the last 5 races managed to score just one point.

Next Saturday at San Nicola Pisa is expected, ninth in the standings and heading towards the playoff zone, in a deeply disappointed environment. Compared to last year, when they came close to losing Serie A in the last minute in the playoff final against Cagliari, Bari is experiencing a major downsizing. There is a double thread that links Bari and Naples with the same ownership: 3 sackings and 4 coaches in Puglia, 2 sackings and 3 coaches in Campania.
