Handball: the French Federation will initiate disciplinary proceedings against Benoît Kounkoud

Initially accused of attempted rape by a 20-year-old woman during a Parisian evening after the European champion title at the end of January, the player of the French handball team Benoît Kounkoud will finally be tried for sexual exhibition, a- we learned this Monday morning.

He will appear for sexual exhibition during a guilty plea hearing in June at the Paris court.

At the end of the day, the French Handball Federation monitored the development of this matter. “FFHandball has become aware of the consequences of the Benoît Kounkoud affair. She notes the total dropping of the accusations of rape or attempted rape concerning him,” she wrote in a press release.

But while the player from Kielce, in Poland, had been selected by Guillaume Gille for the “Trophée des continents” in March, the FFHandball intends to crack down. “The Federation will quickly initiate a disciplinary procedure as well as a request for a position from the ethics commission, against Benoît Kounkoud because of the facts with which he remains accused,” she continues.

Qualified for the Games, the French handball team must meet in Corsica at the beginning of May for a training course before a match against the United States on May 11 in Lyon. The Blues will then undergo three weeks of preparation in Tignes before a final preparation course from July 8 to 17.

Two matches, whose opponents are not yet known, are on the program. Before the French enter the Olympic Games on July 27, a final preparation match is scheduled four days earlier.
