Gwangju Team Excels at Sejong Mayor’s Cup and Disabled Badminton Championships

The Gwangju team advanced to the SL3 finals at the 3rd Sejong Mayor’s Cup and 2024 Spring National Disabled Badminton Championships. Provided by Gwangju City Sports Association for the Disabled.

Gwangju Disabled Badminton Association Lee Jeong-su (Jeonnam College of Education), Lee Seung-hoo (Wolbong Middle School), and Hwang Gyeong-il (KEPCO KPS) participated in the ‘3rd Sejong Mayor’s Cup and 2024 Spring National Disabled Badminton Championships’ held in Sejong City for two days from March 30th. He showed off golden smashing.

Lee Jeong-soo, a former member of the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Para Games national team, won the singles gold medal by defeating Korea’s No. 1 Kim Ki-yeon (Seoul Medical Center) 2-0 in the final. In the doubles, which was held in a full-league format, she was paired with Lee Soo-hyun and won a bronze medal.

Seunghoo Lee and Kyungil Hwang participated in the Sports Grade SL3 men’s doubles and advanced to the finals by defeating Gyeonggi Province 2-0 in the semifinals. Then, in the final, they defeated the Gwangju team (Cho Byeong-man and Kim Hyun-dal) 2-0 and won the gold medal.

Lee Seung-hoo, who also competed in singles, lost 2-0 to Joo Dong-jae (Seoul Medical Center), the No. 1 player in Korea, in the final and won the silver medal.
