In a regular report published on the 17th (Korean time), 100 days before the opening of the Paris Olympics, GraceNote, a data analysis company under Nielsen in the U.S., predicted that Korea would win 24 medals, including 9 gold, 4 silver, and 11 bronze medals. I expected it.

Compared to the forecast for January this year, which predicted that 23 medals would be won, including 7 gold medals, 6 silver medals, and 10 bronze medals, the number of gold medals and bronze medals increased, and the number of silver medals decreased.

Gracenote predicted that Korea would win 29 medals, including 8 gold, 7 silver, and 14 bronze medals, in July of last year, one year before the opening of the Olympics.

As the Olympic opening date decreased from 1 year to 6 months to 100 days, Gracenote’s forecast figures also changed slightly.

Gracenote again did not disclose which event Korea would collect gold medals in.

The Korea Sports Council is preparing for the Paris Olympics with the goal of winning 5 to 6 gold medals with its strong sports, archery and fencing, at the forefront.

Additionally, additional gold medals may be awarded in Taekwondo, badminton, swimming, etc.

Looking at Gracenote’s April data, Korea is expected to stand shoulder to shoulder with Germany and Brazil in the number of gold medals with 9, and compete with Canada (22) and Spain (20) in the total number of medals.

Korea ranked 10th in both the total number of medals and the ranking based only on gold medals.

Gracenote predicted that the United States would win a total of 123 medals, including 39 gold medals, easily beating China, which is expected to take home 89 medals, including 35 gold medals.

In addition, it is predicted that the host country, France (28 gold medals), following the United States and China, and the Netherlands (18 gold medals), which has high hopes for rowing, cycling track, and track and field, will show a strong performance.
