Tiger Woods is making history again at the Masters: For the 24th time in a row, the superstar will make the cut at Augusta National Golf Club.
Golf superstar Tiger Woods will make the cut at the Masters for the 24th time in a row, setting a record. Since his first Masters victory in 1997, the now 48-year-old Californian has always qualified for the two decisive rounds on the weekend when he competes at the Augusta National Golf Club.
The 15-time major champion trumps South Africa’s golf legend Gary Player and US idol Fred Couples, who each made the cut at the Masters 23 times in a row.
Woods finished his second round with 72 shots and will enter the weekend with a total of 145 shots. Before the end of the second day, the five-time Masters winner was tied for 27th place, well above the predicted cut line. At the Masters, the top 50 and tied players qualify for the two decisive rounds on the weekend.
The long-standing world number one broke his right leg several times in a serious car accident in February 2021. Since then, Woods has only competed in a few select tournaments.
