Golf: Women’s Masters, Fiorellini slips to 17th place – Other Sports

In the USA, Francesca Fiorellini is unable to repeat the excellent performance offered in the first round and slips from 2nd to 17th place, with a score of 145 (67 78 +1) shots, in the women’s Masters. In Evans, in the state of Georgia, he nevertheless achieved his first goal and entered the final phase of the tournament which will be played on Saturday 6 April (after a day of field testing) at the Augusta National Golf Club, the theater of green dreams which, next week, it will host The Masters (11-14), the first men’s Major of 2024.


Lots of wind and lots of errors at the Champions Retreat Golf Club (par 72), which hosted the first two rounds, where Lottie Woad, with a total of 139 (68 71, -5), took the lead. With one round to go the Englishman, a 20-year-old from Farnham, a student at Florida State University, has a two-shot lead over Maisie Filler and Gianna Clemente, both 2nd and 141 (-3).


Of the 72 participants, only 35 players passed the last 18 holes and will compete for the title at Augusta National in the fifth edition of the tournament. Three birdies and nine bogeys for Fiorellini, an 18-year-old from Rome who in 2023 became a protagonist by leading the young Europe team to success both at the Junior Solheim Cup, in Spain, and at the Junior Ryder Cup, in the Eternal City.
