Gianluca Mancini scored in the Roma-Milan match, second leg of the Europa League quarter-finals. The Giallorossi defender, who had already scored in the first leg in Milan, did it again in the return match at the Olimpico, scoring in the 12th minute after the post hit by Pellegrini. After the goal, Mancini celebrates with a special dedication. The defender shows off a t-shirt with the writing ‘Ciao Mattia forever with us’.
The message is a tribute to Mattia Giani, the 26-year-old footballer who died on Monday at the Careggi hospital in Florence, after falling ill on Sunday 14 April at the municipal stadium of Campi Bisenzio (Florence), during the Eccellenza championship match between Lanciotto and Castelfiorentino, the team in which he played. Mattia Giani was Elia’s brother, boyfriend of Arianna Mancini, the sister of the Roma defender.
