Gers Participatory Budget: Associations Compete for Funding Through Citizen Votes

In Gers, the departmental council relaunched this year the Gers participatory budget, an envelope dedicated to projects presented by Gers associations, linked to the themes defined by the Department. The associations must then defend their project to citizens to win their votes.

The selected projects may be funded by the Department if they obtain the most votes.

Votes must be taken for three projects. Anyone can vote, without restriction of age or residence. Votes are taken online with an email address or with a paper ballot in the Gersois Participatory Budget ballot boxes on the markets. The deadline for voting is Tuesday, April 30. All information is available on the website budgetparticipatif.gers.fr

Maryline Duffau is asking everyone to vote for the Miélanais projects and more precisely: “those which are presented in the poster or, at least for the Miélanais Judo Club project of which I am the president, some Gersois will perhaps have other projects to defend in their canton”.

Among the three projects in the running, we find the development of the Tannerie hiking trail. This project is supported by the Lous Quarantapes hiking club, useful to walkers and walkers. A plantation with primary and middle school students is on the program as well as a partnership with people at the RSA and the housing center as part of health hikes.

Another project, that of renovating floor equipment and installing wall protection. It is worn by the Judo Club Miélanais. This space is used daily by judo, the voluntary gym, two yoga associations, a group of maternal assistance for the development of children as well as certain associations for stretching and relaxation (dance).

Finally, the tourist and historical discovery circuit of Miélan is also in the competition. It is supported by the New Circle of History and Archeology of Miélan and the Miélan photo and video club. It plans the tourist development of Miélan in Astarac.
