Germany will again be a co-organizer at the 2029 World Cup

Germany will co-host the 2029 Men’s World Cup. The International Handball Federation (IHF) announced this on Tuesday. Germany’s partner is France, Paris will be the venue for the opening game and the final round. As the German association announced, there are considerations about involving other nations.

“It is conceivable that a preliminary group of the German strand will take place in a neighboring country,” said DHB board chairman Mark Schober. The extent to which Austria could play a role is unclear. When asked by the ÖHB, it was said that no details were yet known about what Austria’s role might look like. Therefore, no concrete considerations have been made yet.

Germany will be hosting the Women’s World Cup together with the Netherlands in 2025 and will be the sole host of the Men’s World Cup in 2027.
