Geneva Duo Takes Top Honors at EJU Kata Tour 2024

They had finished very nicely 5th place during the 1st stage of the EJU Kata Tour 2024, Karine Loy and Karine Stauffer-Imboden knew perfectly well that this 2nd stage would not be an easy task. With 63 duos competing and 13 countries represented, the popularity of this edition in Reims, organized this Saturday April 13, 2024, is growing from year to year.

Our duo of Genevans, inscribes en Kodokan Goshin Jutsuwill achieve the feat of obtaining a score of 484.0 by the judges, ahead of Canadian and French couples, synonymous with the highest step on the podium!

Indeed, with such a score, they are ahead of the French and Canadian couples, respectively 2nd and 3rd in the competition.

Furthermore, the European Judo Federation welcomes the new competition format. Indeed, this EJU Kata Tour 2024, by harmonizing the rules of the various stages and the organizing cities, has made it possible to broaden the audience and interest in the discipline, as evidenced by the diversity of the award-winning countries (Switzerland, France, Netherlands, Czech Republic).

We once again congratulate our fantastic duo, who, thanks to their multiple performances in this year 2024, add a new reason to make Geneva, and more broadly Switzerland, proud, as evidenced by the national anthem played during the trophy presentation.
