After Global Cycling Network (GCN) reported yesterday that Lidl-Trek has dropped out of the battle for Demi Vollering’s signature, writes the English-speaking cycling platform now that the Dutch champion will not go to UAE Team ADQ either. The team from the Middle East was long seen as a possible option for Vollering.

It has been known for some time now that Vollering will leave SD Worx-Protime at the end of this season. The Dutch champion is keeping her lips tight-lipped about her future for the time being, but several teams are said to have already shown interest. UAE Team ADQ was also frequently mentioned. At the beginning of this year, analyst Marijn de Vries launched the rumor that Vollering was offered an annual salary of one million euros from UAE Team ADQ.

According to GCN FDJ-SUEZ is one of the main candidates to take over Vollering from SD Worx-Protime. Stephen Delcourt, the FDJ-SUEZ team manager, previously said that there had been talks, but that negotiations failed. Movistar and Visma | Lease a Bike were also mentioned, but these teams do not want or cannot (for budgetary reasons) attract, you know CyclingFlits. There was also Lidl-Trek, which also seems to have dropped out.
