French Players in the NBA: A Recap of Their Last Evening of the 2023-24 Regular Season

The last evening of the 2023-24 regular season is over in the NBA. We will be able to say “see you in a few months” to a good number of French people playing in the Great League, but before that, let’s look back at their last performances of the year.

We see them again in October:

The winger plays on a team that is suffering in the NBA and like every team that is suffering, the last 15 games of the season mainly serve to give playing time to the franchise’s young prospects. The Portland Trail Blazers rookie took more and more space in the rotation and ended his season with 40 minutes on the floor in a collective mess against the Sacramento Kings. 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists at 4/12 shooting, 2/7 from distance and 1/2 shooting. ‘Rups’ is a huge hard worker and we can’t wait to see his Sophomore year.

The winger plays on a team that is suffering in the NBA and like every team that is suffering, the last 15 games of the season mainly serve to give playing time to the franchise’s young prospects. The San Antonio Spurs rookie took more and more place in the rotation and ended his season with 31 minutes on the floor in the victory against the Pistons. 7 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks at 3/8 shooting, 0/2 from distance and 1/2 shooting. Sidy is a huge hard worker and we can’t wait to see his Sophomore year.

Evan Fournier’s season started very badly. Nailed to the New York Knicks bench until the Trade Deadline, the guard joined the Detroit Pistons for the end of the season. Worst team in the League, the collective objectives were not very high, but on an individual level, it was a great opportunity for Evan Fournier. The balding Charenton was able to take advantage of the last 30 matches to get back into rhythm before the Paris Olympic Games next summer. Against the San Antonio Spurs, he finished his season with 6 points, 1 rebound and 1 assist at 3/8 shooting and 0/3 from distance in 16 minutes on the floors. See you at the end of July Vavane!

Still injured, the leader of the Washington Wizards did not participate in his team’s last defeat against the Boston Celtics.

No risk for Wemby. The Alien was rested by the San Antonio Spurs staff for the final game of the season against the Detroit Pistons.

We see it at the Play-In:

From Los Angeles to Philadelphia, Nicolas Batum has changed scenery this year but in both cases, he has been an essential link in a competitive team. Still very useful in an NBA rotation, the winger may have played his last career regular season match against the Brooklyn Nets. 20 minutes, no points, but 5 rebounds and 5 assists at 0/3 shooting and 0/2 from distance. ‘Batman’ will play against the Miami Heat in the Play-In.

We see them (or not) in the Playoffs:

The Future DPOY was like his season against the Phoenix Suns: excellent. Despite the defeat, ‘Gobzilla’ stood out by sending 21 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 1 block at 7/9 shooting and 7/9 shooting in 32 minutes. Rudy Gobert will also find the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the Playoffs. It will be essential for his team that he dominates Jusuf Nurkic again in the series.

Before playing the third and final match of the Finals of G Leaguethe Sophomore warmed up his legs by playing 18 minutes in the team offered by the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Dallas Mavericks. 13 points, 1 rebound, 4 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks at 6/12 shooting and 1/3 from distance. His team finished atop the Western Conference and while he probably won’t be in the playoff rotation, it’s news he can be very happy with. Now we want the G League title.

He was not thrown by Mark Daigneault against the Dallas Mavericks. The only goal: the G League title.

Despite the big turnover made by Doc Rivers in the last two games of the Los Angeles Clippers this season, the French pivot did not see the color of the floor.

The Blues thrilled us during this regular season in the NBA. Some made it through the front door this evening and we can’t wait to see them all again on the floor, whether in the Playoffs, the Olympic Games or next season.
