Margot Lambert (25 years old) and Anne Tran (27 years old) won the women’s doubles title at the European Badminton Championships this Sunday, April 14 in Saarbrücken (Germany), dominating the Bulgarian sisters Gabriela and Stefani Stoeva in the final, triple reigning European champions (16-21, 21-17, 21-11). A second title in two days for French badminton, titled in mixed doubles on Saturday thanks to Thom Gicquel and Delphine Delrue.
First French pair in women’s doubles at the Games since 1992
Officially qualified on Thursday for the Paris Olympic Games, scheduled for July 26 to August 11, the two Tricolores occupied 18th place in the world rankings at the start of the month, just ahead of the Stoeva sisters (19th).
