Four Arrests Made in Connection with New Year’s Eve Brawl Turned Shooting in Afragola, Naples

An argument on New Year’s Eve led to the brawl, resulting in a shooting, which last Sunday resulted in two people being injured. However, four people were arrested.

There are four arrests for the brawl with associated shooting that took place last Sunday, April 21st, in broad daylight Afragola, in the province of Naples, which led to the injury of two people. The preliminary hearing judge of the Court of Naples ordered prison for the four arrested: this is the man who actually shot, wounding the two victims, and three other men who, in Piazza Castello, they participated in the brawl with baseball bats; they too are accused of carrying and possessing the weapon.

The disagreements since last New Year’s Eve: brawl and stabbing over the barrels

As part of the investigations that led to the four arrests, carried out by the State Police, the reasons behind the brawl and the shots were also identified, which can be traced back to a previous quarrel that occurred between the participants even four months ago, last New Year’s Eve. The investigators found out, in fact, that on New Year’s Eve the two groups that took part in the brawl and shooting on Sunday had already had an argument, caused by disagreements over barrels, firecrackers and smoke bombs, which had also led to the stabbing of a person.

On Sunday morning, therefore, the two groups met in Piazza Castello in Afragola to resolve the dispute, which had been going on for four months. Instead of clarifying, however, the climate worsened again, generating the brawl with clubs and the subsequent shootout.
